EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana Men's and Women's Cross Country opens the 2026 season Friday night when the Screaming Eagles host the Stegemoller Screagle Twilight at the USI Cross Country Course.
 
Including USI, four teams are slated to compete Friday night. Joining the Screaming Eagles is crosstown rival University of Evansville, former Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Bellarmine University as well as Western Kentucky University.
 
All four squads are slated to brave the hot temperatures as the women will open the night with a four-kilometer race that begins at 7 p.m. The men's 6k is set for a 7:30 p.m. start time.

Parking is available in two locations — the Broadway Sports Complex and the USI Baseball-Burdette Trail parking lot located next to the USI Baseball Field. Fans are asked to not park along Broadway Avenue in the event parking is not available at the Broadway Sports Complex.
 
USI's men begin the season earning recognition in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association Division I Preseason Great Lakes Region Rankings. The Screaming Eagles ranked No. 10 amongst the Great Lakes Region.
 
Friday's meet marks the season straight season USI has hosted the Stegemoller Twilight at the USI Cross Country Course. This will be the Screaming Eagles' lone home meet of the 2026 season.
