EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Women's Golf opens its spring campaign at the Northern Kentucky University Spring Invitational in Vero Beach, Florida, March 13-15.

The 54-hole tournament will take place over three days, with players competing in 18 holes each day at Sandridge Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida. The course will play at 5,571 yards with a par of 72.

USI will compete against 10 other universities: Mercyhurst University, Purdue University Fort Wayne, University of Detroit Mercy, Monmouth University, Eastern Illinois University, Bucknell University, St. John's University, College of the Holy Cross, Duquesne University, and Northern Kentucky.

Brianna Kirsch, graduate student
Valeria Lopez de Haro Juste, freshman
McKenna Lowe, junior
Tora Timinsky, and sophomore
Fernanda Vera as the starting five for the tournament.

USI enters Friday following a fall season highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the Windy City Invitational hosted by Chicago State University and a seventh-place finish at the Charles Braun Invitational hosted by the University of Evansville. Lopez de Haro Juste led the Eagles with a 78.25 per round average and a top 10 finish at the Windy City Invitational.

Vera was selected as an Ohio Valley Conference Player to Watch coming off an impressive fall season in which she averaged 78.40 strokes per round. The team was tabbed to finish fifth in the OVC Preseason Poll.

After Sunday's conclusion, the Eagles will return to the course on March 20 for a match against Evansville at Fendrich Golf Course in Evansville, Indiana. The two programs faced off in the fall at Western Hills Country Club, with the USI winning 4.5-2.5.
