EVANSVILLE, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf graduate senior
Jonas Arnstrom-Bakker has been named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Week.
Arnstrom-Bakker earns his first career OVC weekly honor and the first of the year for USI Men's Golf.
Arnstrom-Bakker and the Screaming Eagles finished in second place at the Coyote Creek Classic, hosted by Bradley University, earlier this week in Bartonville, Illinois. The runner-up finish was the program's best finish since winning The Buddy in 2023-24. USI logged a 16-over 868 (292-289-287) to come up just five strokes back of first-place Bradley.
Individually, Arnstrom-Bakker notched his first top-five as a Screaming Eagle and his second consecutive top-10 after finishing tied for fourth at even-par 213 (70-73-70). He was one of three Screaming Eagles to finish inside the top 10. The graduate transfer also placed in the top 10 last week at the Dolenc Invitational.
Arnstrom-Bakker opened the Coyote Creek Classic with a one-under-par round that included five birdies. He closed the tournament with another one-under-par round with four birdies. Arnstrom-Bakker tied for a team-best 13 birdies.
Arnstrom-Bakker and USI Men's Golf look to build on the runner-up finish next week in Arkansas at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate at RidgePointe Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas, hosted by Arkansas State University.
