EVANSVILLE, Ind. — University of Southern Indiana Baseball is at home this weekend to host Murray State University for a three-game series Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The weekend series is the first of the spring for the Screaming Eagles.
Due to the weather forecast, the first pitch has been moved up to 4 p.m. on Friday and to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The series finale on Sunday is still slated for 1 p.m.

The first game of the USI-Murray State series is "Free Custard Friday" at the USI Baseball Field. Fans will receive a free custard coupon at each Friday USI home game when the Eagles win.

Cole Kitchens has had the big bat for USI the last five games, hitting .600 (12-20) with two runs scored, two doubles, one home run, and three RBIs.

Cole Kitchens is the top hitter at USI and third in the OVC. Kitchens leads USI in hitting with a .417 batting average (16-39). He also is tied for first in home runs (2), second in doubles (5), and third on the team in RBIs (11).

Blake Kimball led the USI starters in the opening weeks with a 2-2 record and a team-best 2.55 ERA.
USI in the OVC. USI ranks second in the OVC with a .301 team batting average and fifth with 103 runs scored. On the bump, the Eagles are eighth in the league with a 7.05 ERA.

USI hosts Murray State. Murray State leads the all-time series with USI, 9-3-1, after the teams split a home-and-home series last year. The Eagles won on the road, 10-5, but lost at the USI Baseball Field, 13-6.
