EVANSVILLE, Ind. — University of Southern Indiana Baseball opens the 2025 home schedule when it hosts Saint Louis University for a
3 p.m. first pitch Wednesday at the USI Baseball Field. Game time was moved up due to the chance of rain Wednesday night. USI's first two attempts to open the home schedule on February 18 versus Western Kentucky University and February 22 versus the University of Evansville were canceled due to weather.

Following the home opener, the Screaming Eagles hit the road for the first of two eight-game road swings this spring. The road trip starts February 28-March 2 with four games versus Bowling Green State University and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. USI is slated to play BGSU at noon and SIU Friday at 4 p.m.; BGSU on Saturday at 4 p.m.; and SIU on Sunday at 4 p.m.
The road swing continues March 5 with a visit to SLU in St. Louis, Missouri, before traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma, March 7-9 for a three-game series at Oral Roberts University.
The next home game for USI is March 11 when the Eagles host Austin Peay State University.

USI Baseball Notes:
USI splits with Evansville. The USI Screaming Eagles earned a split in a pair of lopsided games with the University of Evansville over the weekend. USI took the opening game, 9-1, but lost the nightcap, 13-0.
Versus Evansville. USI freshman
Kannon Coakley led the Eagles by batting .500 (3-6) in the two games with Evansville, while senior centerfielder
Khi Holiday batted .375 (3-8) with a team-high four RBIs. Junior right-hander
Blake Kimball posted the win on Sunday, throwing 6.2 innings of shutout baseball and 4.1 innings of no-hit baseball.
USI started hot. The Eagles started 2025 on a high note, taking three of four from Alabama State University. USI took the opener 3-1; split a doubleheader on day two, winning 12-8 and losing 9-2; and won the series with a 15-13 victory on the final day.
Offense starts with Holiday. USI senior centerfielder/leadoff hitter
Khi Holiday has jump-started the Eagles' offense in each of the wins. In the four wins, Holiday has scored 10 of USI's 41 runs and has driven in 10 of the Eagles' 33 RBIs. He also leads the team with 11 hits and seven stolen bases.
On the mound: Junior right-hander
Blake Kimball led the USI starters in the opening weeks with a win and a no-decision in his two starts. Kimball has a 0.71 in 12.2 innings with three strikeouts. Sophomore right-hander
Aaron Rubio was the best out of the bullpen, earning a pair of saves and allowing one run in 6.2 innings.
USI to host Saint Louis. USI will host Saint Louis University February 26. The series is tied, 1-1, after SLU took the only meeting last season, 13-5.
USI vs. BGSU. USI will be playing Bowling Green State University for the first time in the history of the two baseball programs. BGSU is 4-2 overall to start the year.
USI visits SIU. USI trails the all-time series with Southern Illinois University, 4-1, after falling, 7-5, last year in Carbondale. The Salukis are 3-3 with a game to play before hosting USI.
Long road swings on the schedule. The Eagles have a pair of long road swings in 2025. USI has eight on the road to end February and start March and an eight-game trip in April.
