Volleyball signs North Alabama transfer, Audrey Small

Incoming 2025 Fall Sophomore

EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Volleyball announced the signing of incoming transfer Audrey Small to the 2025 fall roster. Small is a libero, transferring into USI from University of North Alabama where she was a standout freshman in 2024. Small has already enrolled into spring classes and has joined the Eagles in spring training, where she will enter her sophomore season with the Eagles next fall.

"We're excited to welcome Audrey to our USI family," say head coach Jeffrey Aucoin. "Audrey had a phenomenal first year at North Alabama being named to the ASUN All Freshman team as a starting libero. She is an elite competitor, that will help bolster our back court. She believes in the future of our program and will add great value to our locker room, in the classroom, and on the court this fall!" 

Small is originally from O'Fallon, Missouri, attending Fort Zumwalt West High School. She served as the squad's libero all four seasons, earning First Team All-District and First Team All-Conference in 2022 and 2023. Small broke the school record for digs with a total of 1,892 in 2024.
 
In her freshman season at North Alabama, Small put the entire conference on notice, earning an Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team selection. She served as the the Lions libero, racking up 506 digs, leading the team with 4.36 digs per set. The transfer also totaled 114 assists and 20 service aces.
 
The accolades continued to compile, earning ASUN Defensive Player of the Week at the end of November, along with finishing the season ranked fifth in the conference in digs per set. Her two career highs featured 30 dig per performances against Queens and Central Arkansas. North Alabama finished the season with a 15-15 record overall and 9-7 in conference.
