EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf returns to the course Monday and Tuesday at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
 
The tournament is at Ridgepointe Country Club, a par-72 course set up for 6,676 yards. The 54-hole tournament begins with the first and second rounds played continuously on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The final round will begin with tee times beginning on Tuesday at 7:45 a.m.
 
Other competing teams include Arkansas State University, Austin Peay State University, Eastern Illinois University, the University of Evansville, Jacksonville State University, Lindenwood University, Murray State University, the University of New Orleans, Nicholls State University, Oklahoma Christian University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas State University, and the University of Tennessee at Martin.
 
The Screaming Eagles are coming off a sixth-place finish at the Grover Page Classic two weeks ago, which was trimmed to only two rounds due to inclement weather.
 
Senior Jason Bannister was USI's top individual competitor at the Grover Page Classic with a six-under 138, tying for fifth place. Senior Sam Vertanen placed inside the top 25 at one under par. Both Bannister and Vertanen posted rounds of 68 during the tournament.
 
This week, USI will send out the same five from its season-opening tournament at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Dolenc Invitational. Joining Bannister and Vertanen at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate will be junior Carter Goebel, sophomore Hunter Reynolds, and senior Wade Worthington.
