Axel Sabourin (Marseille, France), junior
Quinten Gillespie (Whiteland, Indiana), and senior
Rachel McCorkle (Tulsa, Oklahoma) were named College Sports Communicators NCAA Division I Academic All-District members on Tuesday afternoon.

All three athletes met the criteria for the CSC All-District Award being a sophomore academically or higher, excelling beyond the 3.5 cumulative grade point average, and competing in 70% of total matches.

McCorkle, a Mechanical Engineering major, has been a pivotal piece of the USI program for four years. She owns numerous academic accolades including two-time Academic All-GLVC honors, OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, and now two-time Academic All-District. McCorkle primarily competed in the number one slot earning five wins each in both doubles and singles this season. She accumulated 31 singles wins and 30 doubles victories in her career at USI. McCorkle helped lead the Eagles to a historic season as an Ohio Valley Conference Semifinalist.

Gillespie, a mathematics major, was sharp on and off the court this season for the Eagles. Gillespie has earned multiple academic honors in his career including Academic All-GLVC, OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, and now Academic All-District. In 2024, he was one of two Eagles with a winning singles record at 11-10 along with seven doubles victories. Gillespie will enter his senior season next year looking to help the Eagles take steps forward in year three of NCAA Division I play.

Sabourin, a business administration major, excelled in his first season at USI as a model student-athlete. He transferred to USI after playing his first collegiate season at the University of Indianapolis. Sabourin was tied for second on the team with 11 singles victories, owning a 3-1 record in conference play. He emerged victorious in a team-best eight doubles matches in the number one slot. The future is bright for the sophomore looking ahead to the next season.
