BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana men's track and field junior
Paul Jellema (Dyer, Indiana) and freshman
Tim Sirbek (Hammond, Indiana) finished first and second, respectively, in the 5,000 meters Friday evening at the Hoosier Hills Invitational.
Jellema finished the race with a solid NCAA II provisional qualifying time of 14 minutes, 27.21 seconds. Sirbek also posted a provisional qualifying mark of 14 minutes, 39.23 seconds.
Senior
Robert Garwood (Columbus, Indiana) finished fifth in the 5,000 meters, posting a time of 15 minutes, 16.71 seconds.
The Screaming Eagles return to action next Saturday when they compete at the GLVC Championships in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
