FINDLAY, Ohio--University of Southern Indiana Men's Golf finished 17th out of 18 teams at the rain-shortened University of Findlay Doc Spragg Fall Invitational.
After 36 holes of competition Monday, Mother Nature got the best of the golfers Tuesday as the rain soaked the course. The Screaming Eagles opened the tournament Monday with a team score of 314 in the opening round before closing the day with a second-round 304.
Freshman
Zach Williams (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) was the Eagles' top finisher for the third straight tournament as he posted an eight-over-par 152, including an even-par 72 in the second round.
Williams finished in a tie for 48th in the 90-player field, while junior
Trevis Bell (Madisonville, Kentucky) finished in a tie for 63rd with a 36-hole score of 155 (+11). Bell rallied from an opening-round 80 to shoot a three-over 75 in the final 18 holes.
Junior
Zach Breault (Bridgeport, Illinois) paced the Eagles in the opening round with a 75, but closed with a second-round 81 for a 36-hole tally of 156 (+12) and a tie for 68th.
The Eagles return to action Saturday and Sunday when they compete in the Dan Salisbury Memorial at the Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois.
