Eagles open 2015 at Strassweg Field

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's soccer team kicks off the 2015 campaign with six of its first seven matches, including a pair of  matches on opening weekend, at Strassweg Field. To open the season, the Screaming Eagles face Midwest Region rival Kentucky Wesleyan College on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

The season-opener is also USI's 4th annual Gold Game, in recognition of September being Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. The Eagles will wear gold jerseys during select September home games, including Thursday's contest against Kentucky Wesleyan, to promote awareness. For Thursday's match against KWC, there will be no charge for admission, but donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to benefit Go4theGoal, a national organization supporting children with cancer and helping to fund programs in the fight against pediatric cancer. Donations can also be made at www.go4thegoal.org

The Eagles will close the weekend by hosting Union University of the Gulf South Conference in a noon contest on Sunday.

Game coverage for the first week of 2015 action, including live stats and video, is available at gousieagles.com.
