EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team concludes the 2015 calendar year Saturday and Sunday when it competes at the Bellarmine University Classic at Knights Hall in Louisville, Kentucky.
USI takes on Midwest Region foes Northern Michigan University Saturday at noon (CST) and Ferris State University Sunday at noon. Both games can be heard on WPSR 90.7 FM, while live stats, audio, and video can be accessed at GoUSIEagles.com.
The Screaming Eagles (7-1), who conclude their non-conference schedule this weekend, look to add to a five-game winning streak when they take on the Wildcats Saturday.

Hannah Wascher (Rantoul, Illinois) is averaging 17.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game to lead the Eagles during their five-game winning streak, while sophomore guard/forward
Kaydie Grooms (Marshall, Illinois) is averaging 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game during that stretch.
On the year, the Eagles have four players averaging in double-figures, with Wascher leading the way with 16.3 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest. Grooms is chipping in 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per appearance, while junior guard

Saturday's game is the first time since December 18, 2001, that USI and Northern Michigan have faced each other on the hard wood. The Eagles lead the all-time series with the Wildcats, 4-1, and are 2-0 against Northern Michigan in the NCAA II Tournament.
Northern Michigan (2-6, 1-3 GLIAC) is looking to stop a two-game losing streak when it faces USI Saturday. Junior guard Bre Gaspervich leads the Wildcats with 11.3 points and 2.7 assists per game, while freshman center Taylor Hodell is contributing 9.6 points and a team-leading 6.6 rebounds per appearance.
Ferris State (2-6, 2-2 GLIAC), which faces Bellarmine Saturday, has won two straight games entering this weekend's competition. The Bulldogs are led by sophomore forward Rachel McInerney, who is averaging a team-best 12.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.
USI is 6-2 all-time against Ferris State, including a 71-52 victory in the most recent meeting between the two teams on December 30, 2009.
The Eagles resume GLVC play January 7 when they visit Rockhurst University. The USI Varsity Club will stream the game live in the Varsity Club Room and will have soft drinks and popcorn available for family and friends.
