Bowles leads the way with season-best nine strikeouts

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team completed a four-game sweep and won its seventh-straight game with a 6-0 win over McKendree University Sunday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field. USI goes to 29-15 overall and 18-14 in the GLVC, while McKendree sees its record fall to 18-22, 13-19 GLVC.

Reece Rounder (Evansville, Indiana); outfielder/designated hitter
B.J. Willis (Cincinnati, Ohio); and manager
Scott Ernstberger (Indianapolis, Indiana).
The Screaming Eagles recorded all the runs they would need in the third inning when they scored three times on five-straight hits. USI would go on to add a single tally in the third and two more in the seventh to seal the victory. Junior rightfielder

Matt Bowles (Mt. Washington, Kentucky) was dominating on the mound in the USI win. Bowles (8-3) won his team-best eighth of the year and struck out a season-best nine batters, while allowing seven hits and two walks.
The Eagles hit the road for the final five games off the regular season, beginning with a cross-town trip to the University of Evansville Wednesday. The first pitch is slated for 6 p.m. USI resumes GLVC action next weekend when it travels to Bellarmine University for a four-game series.
