EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team looks to continue its strong start Thursday at 6 p.m. when it hosts Mid-Continent University at the Physical Activities Center.
USI is off to its first 5-0 start since the 2000-01 season and its fourth in the program's 38-year history. The previous three times the Screaming Eagles have begun the year with five consecutive wins, they have gone on to capture the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship and advance to the NCAA II Tournament.
The Eagles have looked strong in their first five games as they are averaging 81.0 points per contest and posting an average margin of victory of 23.0 points per game.

USI leads the all-time series with Mid-Continent, 2-0, after posting a 109-42 victory over the Cougars last year at the PAC. The Eagles drained a single-game school record 15 three-pointers in the win.
Mid-Continent (4-8), which hosts Indiana University-Southeast Tuesday night, has lost two straight games and five of its last seven. Junior forward Stephanie Malone leads the Cougars, who are counting Thursday's game as an exhibition, with 16.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per appearance.
