EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team entered the top 10 nationally for the first time this season by rising to 10th in the NABC/Division II Top 25 poll released today. Leading the way this season is senior guard Jamar Smith (Peoria, Illinois), who is dropping in 23.4 points per game. Smith, who is dropping in 4.6 three-point field goals per game, also is averaging 26.0 points per contest during December.
USI is idle until December 29 when it welcomes Brevard College to the PAC for a 7:30 p.m. match-up. Brevard has begun 2009-10 with a 5-2 mark and recently had its five-game winning streak stopped by Belmont Abbey College at home on December 17.
