EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team has the opportunity give Head Coach Rick Stein his record-breaking 160th career victory Monday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Midwest Region foe Wayne State University at the Physical Activities Center.

USI (6-4) also is looking to remain unbeaten at home as it has been victorious in its first four appearances at the PAC.

The Screaming Eagles, winners of their last two games, handed Stein his 159th career win last Monday when they toppled Truman State University, 67-50, at the PAC. Stein, who moved into a tie with his former mentor and close friend Chancellor Dugan, has attributed his success to the players and coaches that have been around him.

"I've been blessed to have a lot of great players and great coaches that I've worked with," Stein said. "Obviously you can't do anything without great kids, great student-athletes, and great players. That's why we are here!

"Coach Dugan and I spent a lot of years coaching together," Stein continued. "We are great friends and I've learned so much from her as a coach, a person, and a motivator. We had a great run together."

Stein, who has been part of 318 wins at USI, was an assistant on Dugan's staff during her eight years at USI and helped the Eagles reach the national championship game in 1997.

In just his second season at the helm of the program, Stein led the Eagles to the GLVC championship and the NCAA II Elite Eight. He has led USI to a pair of GLVC championships and three NCAA II Tournament appearances in his nine-plus seasons at the helm of the Eagles.

Now Stein has his Eagles looking to put together a winning streak on their home court when they host Wayne State Monday night. USI, which is in the midst of a six-game homestand, is 5-0 all-time against the Warriors.

Wayne State (2-6) has lost its last three games after opening the season with a 2-3 mark. Senior guard Jasmine McCall leads the Warriors with 14.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest after racking up 23 points in Wayne State's 73-58 setback to No. 14 Michigan Tech University.

Sophomore guard Ellen Young (Salem, Illinois), who had 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in USI's victory over Truman State, leads the Eagles with 13.5 points per appearance. Senior forward/center Brittany Neuman (Huntingburg, Indiana), who had 11 points and six rebounds in the Eagles' last win, is second in the GLVC with a career-high 8.0 rebounds per contest.

Following USI's game with Wayne State, the Eagles host Saint Joseph's College (January 2), the University of Indianapolis (January 4), and defending national champion and top-ranked Northern Kentucky University (January 8).
