EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team is looking to bounce back from its first two-game losing streak of the season when it hosts long-time rivals Bellarmine University Thursday at 5:15 p.m. and Northern Kentucky University Saturday at 1 p.m. It marks the first time in two seasons that Bellarmine and NKU will visit the Physical Activities Center.

USI (11-4, 5-2 GLVC) ran into a pair of buzz-saws last weekend when it lost at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, 96-62, and at Quincy University, 71-59. Despite the set backs, USI is just a half-game back of SIU Edwardsville for first place in the GLVC West Division.

Senior guard Katie Thiesenhusen (Muskego, Wisconsin) leads the Screaming Eagles with 13.3 points and 2.8 assists per game, while junior forward Jasmine Baines (Jeffersonville, Indiana) and senior forward Sabrina Brandon (Danville, Illinois) are chipping in 11.9 and 11.3 points per contest, respectively.

Junior guard Akiya Alexander (Evanston, Illinois), who led the Eagles with 22 points in their loss to Quincy, is adding 9.8 points per outing. Senior forward/center Sarah Buldtman (Metropolis, Illinois) leads the Eagles with 6.3 rebounds per game.

Bellarmine (11-4, 4-3 GLVC) is coming off back-to-back wins over the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Junior guard Angela Smith leads a balanced scoring attack for the Knights with 11.9 points per game, while junior center Ashley Lewallen is second on the squad with 11.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest. Sophomore forward Dana Beaven is adding 9.7 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds per game, while junior guard Denasha Mondy is averaging 8.9 points and a team-leading 3.3 assists per outing.

USI trails the all-time series with the Knights, 35-16, and is 4-10 since 2000 after losing last season's meeting, 83-77, in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Eagles also trail the all-time series with the Norse of Northern Kentucky, 31-17. USI is 6-9 since 2000 against the Norse after losing last year's contest, 62-43, in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

NKU (9-5, 3-4 GLVC), which visits Kentucky Wesleyan College Thursday evening, also is coming off back-to-back victories over Missouri-Rolla and Missouri-St. Louis.

Junior center Angela Healy leads the Norse with 11.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Senior forward Karyn Creager and senior forward/center Katie Butler are adding 10.7 and 10.6 points per game, respectively, while senior forward Brittany Winner is averaging 10.3 points and a team-high 3.4 assists per contest.
