EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team embarks on its final regular-season road trip when it takes on Quincy University Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at the Pepsi Arena in Quincy, Illinois, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Vadalabene Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.

With four games remaining on their 2005-06 regular-season schedule, the Screaming Eagles are in position to make a legitimate run at the third seed in the GLVC West Division.

USI (14-12, 6-9 GLVC) is currently tied with SIU Edwardsville and is just a game back of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the University of Missouri Rolla for an automatic spot in the GLVC Tournament. The Eagles host both schools to close out the regular season.

The Eagles, which defeated Rockhurst University, 82-74, after falling to No. 4-ranked Drury University, 89-61, are looking to avenge a 75-61 setback to Quincy earlier this season. USI could not overcome its poor first-half shooting performance, falling behind by 16 points at the break, as it lost to the Lady Hawks for the fourth consecutive time.

Quincy (16-7, 10-5 GLVC), which is looking to bounce back from a 20-point loss to Missouri-St. Louis when it hosts SIU Edwardsville tonight, leads the series with USI, 9-5, since 2000. The Eagles lead the all-time series with the Lady Hawks, 15-12.

A win on Saturday would give the Eagles a season sweep of SIU Edwardsville after the Eagles edged the Cougars, 70-69, on a clutch shot in the closing seconds by freshman point guard Keisha Collins (South Holland, Illinois) earlier in the season.

USI leads the all-time series with the Cougars, 23-20, and has won seven of the last 12 meetings between the two teams since 2000. SIU Edwardsville (12-11, 6-9 GLVC) defeated Missouri-Rolla, 66-62, last Saturday after falling to Missouri-St. Louis, 65-48, last Thursday.

Sophomore forward Jasmine Baines (Jeffersonville, Indiana) leads the Eagles with 13.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while Collins, who is third on the team with 11.5 points per contest, leads the squad and is fifth in the GLVC with 3.9 assists per outing. Junior guard Katie Thiesenhusen (Muskego, Wisconsin) is second on the team with 11.7 points and 2.8 assists per game.
