EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team returns to action when it hosts the Gulf South Conference's Christian Brothers University Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center.
USI (1-1) is coming off an 84-53 victory over the University of Illinois-Springfield in which it forced 35 turnovers and had four players record at least 10 points.
Senior forward
Michelle King (Columbus, Indiana) leads the Screaming Eagles with 14.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game after recording a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds against UIS. She is second in the GLVC in rebounding and first in defensive rebounds per game (7.0).
Junior forward
Jasmine Baines (Jeffersonville, Indiana) is second on the team with 13.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest, while senior forward
Sabrina Brandon (Danville, Illinois) is third with 11.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per outing.
After forcing the Prairie Stars into 35 turnovers, USI has taken the lead in the GLVC in turnover margin (+9.0).
Christian Brothers (1-1) is coming off a 62-52 setback to the University of North Alabama this past Tuesday. Sophomore guard Kat Butler led the Buccaneers with 15 points, while junior center Ponecia Anderson led the squad with eight rebounds.
This marks the first-ever meeting between the two squads.
