EVANSVILLE, Ind.—Six players scored in double figures as the University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team closed out 2005 with a dominating 100-70 victory over Oakland City University Saturday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center. It marks the first time the Screaming Eagles have reached the century mark since November 21, 2004.

Senior guard Tiara Brown (Normal, Illinois) led the Screaming Eagles with a career-high 21 points and was 6-of-6 from the floor, including 4-of-4 from three-point range. Brown's two three-point field goals early in the second half gave the Eagles a 12-point lead and helped set the tone for one of USI's best shooting performances of the season.

USI (9-5) missed just four shots and shot an amazing 82.6 percent from the field in the second half. For the game, the Eagles shot 66.7 percent from the field and 53.3 percent from behind the arc.

Sophomore forward Jasmine Baines (Jeffersonville, Indiana) recorded her second double-double of the season (14 points, 10 rebounds), while junior guard Katie Thiesenhusen (Muskego, Wisconsin) finished with 13 points, six assists, and four steals.

Junior guard/forward Michelle King (Columbus, Indiana) added a season-high 13 points, while freshman guard Keisha Collins (South Holland, Illinois) and freshman forward/center Jessica Grimaldo (Carmi, Illinois) chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively. Collins also had five assists in the victory.

Junior guard Kim Sliwa led Oakland City with 19 points, while freshman guard Karissa Walter and freshman guard/forward Chelsea Miller chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively. The loss drops the Lady Oaks to 3-7 on the season.

The Eagles return to action Monday when they host the University of Alabama-Huntsville (5-5) at the PAC. Tip-off is slated for 5:15 p.m.
