Looking at the 2003-04 schedule, the University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team did not feel well about its first four GLVC games. That is because all four were scheduled as road games.

Half way through their first road trip of the season, the Screaming Eagles are sporting a 4-1 record and a 1-1 mark in GLVC play.

Life will not get any easier as the Eagles travel to the University of Missouri-St. Louis this Thursday, December 4, for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off and to #20 Quincy University this Saturday, December 6, for a 1 p.m. start.

The Eagles, which may be without the services of junior guard Kennitra Johnson (New Albany, Indiana) for a second straight game, will look to senior forwards Shajuan Lindsey (Midlothian, Illinois) and Shannon Wells (Merrillville, Indiana).

Lindsey is averaging 14.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while Wells is averaging 12.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest. As a starter, Wells is averaging 18.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in three games.

USI's backcourt will be led by junior guard Jamie Truitt (Owensboro, Kentucky) and freshman point guard Lauren Parrish (Shepherdsville, Kentucky). Truitt is averaging 15.0 points and 2.2 assists per game, while Parrish is coming off a career-high 15-point, 4-assist performance against Kentucky Wesleyan College. For the season, Parrish is adding 5.0 points and 3.0 assists to USI's offense.

On the boards, the Eagles are led by sophomore forward Ashley Green (Otterbein, Indiana). Green is averaging 5.6 rebounds to go along with 9.6 points per contest.

UMSL, which is 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the GLVC, will play its first home game of the season when the Eagles enter the Mark Twain Building on Thursday. Despite the record, the Riverwomen are used to tough competition. UMSL is coming off losses to #9 Drury University, #10 Northern Kentucky University, and #11 Bellarmine University.

The Eagles fell to UMSL in their regular-season finale a year ago and will be looking for redemption Thursday as that loss prevented them from making the GLVC Tournament.

Saturday, the Eagles will face a familiar face in Quincy junior forward Jessica Stuckman. Stuckman averaged 18.1 points per game for the Eagles as a freshman and a sophomore before transferring to Quincy a year ago. She leads the Lady Hawks (4-2, 1-1 GLVC) with 18.3 points per contest in 2003-04.

After a trip to Cancun, Mexico, to take on Assumption College and #16 Arkansas Tech University, the Eagles will return home Monday, December 29, to take on the University of Illinois-Springfield in a 5:15 p.m. contest.
