The ninth-ranked University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team left room for improvement after dropping its first and only exhibition game of the season Saturday evening. The Screaming Eagles committed 43 turnovers as they fell to the Indiana State University Sycamores, 93-50, at the Hulman Center in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Africa Sherrod (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) led USI with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman
Ashley Green (Otterbein, Indiana) followed Sherrod with nine points while junior forward
Shajuan Lindsey (Midlothian, Illinois) dished in eight points.
USI shot just 43.2 percent from the floor and was 2-of-11 from behind the arc.
The Eagles will start the regular season this Friday, November 22, as they travel south to take on Carson-Newman College in the Carson-Newman Tournament. Tip-off is slated for a 5 p.m. start. USI will battle 22nd-ranked Mars Hill College Saturday, November 23, in a 3 p.m. tip-off. Both contests will be in Jefferson City, Tennessee.
