University of Southern Indiana Athletics

Rob Garwood ‘08 enters his third season with the University of Southern Indiana men’s and women’s cross country/track coaching staff. Garwood assists Head Coach Mike Hillyard in all aspects of the program.

Garwood began his career with the Screaming Eagles as a student-athlete in 2002-03. During his career, Garwood was a member of two GLVC championship squads and earned All-GLVC honors as a senior in 2005.

A native of Columbus, Indiana, Garwood finished 14th at the GLVC Championships as a junior in 2004 and ninth at the league meet in 2005.

On the track, Garwood competed in distance events and posted numerous top-five finishes at the GLVC Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Garwood finished his career ranked fourth all-time at USI in the outdoor 3,000 meters.

Garwood graduated from USI in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a minor in marketing. He is currently working on a second bachelor’s degree in political science with an emphasis in pre-law.
