About the USI Dance Team
USI has one of the strongest dance programs in Division II. Joining the dance team is a great opportunity for students to continue dancing at the collegiate level. The team is made up of talented and dedicated individuals who perform at men’s home basketball games and other USI events and competitions.
Each year the Dance Team attends a collegiate-level summer camp and participates in NDA college dance national competition in Daytona, Florida. Additionally, the Dance Team sponsors clinics and competitions throughout the year including fundraising events and performs at various community events such as EVSC and Warrick County Middle School and High School Cheer/Dance exhibitions, Race for the Cure, and the MS Walk.
Throughout the year, they practice three times a week and participate in a team-conditioning program. Team members are required to enroll in and pass nine hours each semester and maintain a 2.0 cumulative as well as semester GPA to be eligible to participate.
If you have been unconditionally accepted for admission to USI, you are eligible to try out for the USI Dance Team. Tryouts are held each April and September on the USI campus. Videos tryouts will be accepted until June 15 each year in order to attend camp the middle of August.
Tryouts for the 2020-21 season are April 25-26 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Physical Activities Center. Tryout information can be found on this web site, or contact Jennifer Parker at 618-615-3335.
