EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer begins its longest road stretch of the season on Sunday, when the Screaming Eagles travel to Eastern Michigan University for a Noon CT kickoff in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
 
USI Women's Soccer (0-4-2) kicks off a four-game road stretch against the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Sunday. USI started its season with five of its first six games at home. USI earned its second tie of the season in its first and only road match so far, back on August 23 at Purdue University Fort Wayne, in a 0-0 draw.
 
The Screaming Eagles are looking to take advantage of the road opportunity and get on track following back-to-back home losses, including a narrow 1-0 loss on Thursday against Arkansas State University.
 
In Thursday's contest against the Red Wolves, Arkansas State scored the game's only goal nearly four minutes in. USI then held Arkansas State scoreless for the last 86-plus minutes of the match. The Screaming Eagles had multiple chances in front of the goal, but could not get the ball to bounce their way into the net. The Screaming Eagles outshot the Red Wolves 15-12 overall, with each team tallying six shots on goal.
 
Senior forward Eva Boer led USI with three shots and matched graduate forward Payton Seymour with two shots on goal. Six Screaming Eagles recorded two or more shots on Thursday. Sophomore goalkeeper Merrick Schwalbach snagged five saves for the third time this season and for the second game in a row.
 
On the season, Seymour leads the team with 11 shots. Junior forward Josie Pochocki and freshman midfielder Shea Krakowski are tied for second with 10 shots. Pochocki leads with five shots on goal. In goal, Schwalbach has a 1.33 GAA with 23 saves and two clean sheets.
 
Eastern Michigan (1-1-2), playing only its second home game of the season, is coming off back-to-back 0-0 ties on the road, including at No. 3 Michigan State University on August 27. The Eagles most recently drew with Robert Morris University last Sunday.
 
Eastern Michigan has scored only three goals while allowing only two goals through four matches. Three Eagles have split the goal scoring so far. Meanwhile, senior forward Olivia Sipsock is the leading shot taker with 11 shots this season. Senior goalkeeper Ella Holland has played every minute in goal, surrendering only two goals toward a 0.50 GAA with 11 saves on 40 shots faced and two shutouts.
 
Sunday's match is only the second all-time meeting between the two programs, as Eastern Michigan won at USI 3-1 last season.
