EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer returns home Thursday after a four-game road trip to take on Ohio Valley Conference opponent Eastern Illinois University at 5 p.m. at Strassweg Field

USI (0-5-3, 0-1-0 OVC) returns home looking to snap a two-game losing streak after a 3-1 loss at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Saturday.
 
Sophomore midfielder Edin Cvorovic scored his second goal of the season and fourth career goal in the match. Sophomore midfielder Tony Murphy added an assist on the goal, his third of the season.
 
Sophomore midfielder Brian Novillo and Cvorovic lead the Screaming Eagles with two goals apiece, followed by three other players with one goal. Murphy leads the team in assists with three. Sophomore goalkeeper Jacob English leads the OVC in saves with 42 and has six games with five or more saves.
 
Eastern Illinois University (1-5-2, 0-1-0 OVC) fell 2-1 to Western Illinois University in its OVC opener. The Panthers scored in the 18th minute and outshot Western Illinois, 15-11.
 
The Screaming Eagles feature a 3-11-1 record against the Panthers. In the last matchup, USI fell to EIU 2-0.
 
 
EIU's season is highlighted by a 4-1 win over Chicago State University. Senior defender Marcos Ayelo scored twice in the victory, finding the back of the net in the 18th and 22nd minutes.
 
Junior forward Keidin Green and senior forward Sergej Misic lead the offensive front with four goals each. Junior midfielder Bernardo Hanel and junior Shuto Ishikawa share the team lead with three assists.
 
Junior goalkeeper Kai Odagiri is in net for the Panthers. In three starts this season, he is allowing 1.66 goals per match and has accumulated 11 saves this season.   
 
After the home match on Thursday, the Screaming Eagles will hit the road once again for another three-game stretch on the road against Western Illinois (10/4), Houston Christian University (10/8), and the University of the Incarnate Word (10/11).
