Ellie Hall has landed on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team for the second consecutive year in an announcement Tuesday.
To be eligible for Academic All-District, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and have either finished in the top 50 of their NCAA Division I Cross Country Regional Championship or be ranked in the top 50 in a single event (indoor or outdoor) in their region on the track.
A native of Ferdinand, Indiana, Hall had an outstanding year for the Screaming Eagles as she was named the OVC Athlete of the Year on the cross country course last fall before collecting a pair of conference titles at the OVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships last month.
The health services major earned first-team All-OVC honors on the grass after finishing fifth at the OVC Cross Country Championships last October. She appeared in six meets, posting four top-10 finishes and placing 60th at the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Championships.
Hall, who was named the OVC Runner of the Week twice during the fall and the OVC Track Athlete of the Week twice this past spring, ranked No. 1 in the OVC in both the 5,000 and 10,000 meters and was No. 4 in the conference in the 1,500 meters.
In the Great Lakes Region, Hall ranked No. 19 in the 10,000 meters and No. 30 in the 5,000 meters. She went on to capture gold in both events at the OVC Outdoor Championships.
With her Academic All-District honor, Hall moves onto the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
