EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Softball sophomore pitcher Kylie Witthaus was named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Tournament Team on Saturday.
 
Witthaus appeared in all three games, making two starts, for USI at the OVC Championship Tournament in Peoria, Illinois, this week. Witthaus (1-1) pitched 10.1 innings at the tournament, striking out six batters and posting an ERA just over two. The left-hander held opposing hitters to a .262 batting average.
 
Witthaus delivered a notable performance in USI's opening game at the OVC Tournament, pitching a 1-0 shutout against Tennessee Tech University. The sophomore limited the Golden Eagles to only five hits and struck out five in the full seven innings of work. The superb outing advanced the Screaming Eagles out of the single-elimination round and into the double-elimination portion of the tournament.
 
At the OVC Tournament, USI went 1-2 as the No. 6 seed. The Screaming Eagles not only appeared in their fourth consecutive OVC Tournament, appearing all four seasons at the Division-I level, but also recorded a postseason win at the conference tournament for the fourth-straight season. Unfortunately, following the 1-0 shutout win against Tennessee Tech in the opener, USI fell 9-1 in six innings to third-seeded Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and 7-4 to fifth-seeded Southeast Missouri State University in a roller-coaster elimination game that ended USI's 2026 campaign.
