Stan Gouard announced the addition of 6-foot-2 junior point guard
Josh Smith to the 2026-27 roster.
Smith comes to USI from Lee College in Baytown, Texas, where he averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.5 blocks in 62 career games.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Smith started 59 games during his two seasons with the Navigators. He racked up 876 career points, 292 rebounds, 181 assists, 88 steals and 31 blocks during his 62 career games.
In 2025-26, Smith averaged a team-high 14.4 points, 3.5 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He also was third on the team with 5.3 rebounds per game.
Smith, who attended Madison Prep Academy in Baton Rouge, joins a list of newcomers that includes 6-foot-2 junior guard
