EVANSVILLE, Ind. - University of Southern Indiana Women's Swimming and Diving had four athletes named to the College Sports Communications Academic All-District team for NCAA Division I.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-District Award, the student-athlete must possess a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) as an undergraduate and graduate (if applicable). They must have reached a sophomore athletic and academic standing at the institution. Eligible nominees must compete in four competitions or finish top eight at a conference championship meet.

The Screaming Eagles earned four honorees on this year's list, with senior
Mattilynn Smith and sophomore trio
Elizabeth Ketcham,
Gabbie Meier, and
Emma Gabhart each earning a slot.

Smith, a nutrition major, concluded her outstanding collegiate career as the university record holder in the 1000 freestyle and as part of the record-setting 800 freestyle relay team. She also ranks second all-time in the 200, 500, and 1650 freestyle events. The senior posted first-place finishes in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle during the team's meet against the University of Evansville.

Ketcham, a mechanical engineering major, contributed to both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams that set new program records, while also holding individual records in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. This season, the sophomore recorded second-place finishes in the 100 freestyle at the tri-meet with Bellarmine University and Butler University, and added a runner-up finish in the 100 butterfly at Indiana University Indianapolis.

Meier, a pre-nursing major, delivered an impressive sophomore season on the boards. She currently ranks second in program history with a score of 250.25 in the three-meter dive. The sophomore placed third in both the one and three-meter events against Evansville and secured a top-10 finish in the three-meter competition at the Summit League Championships.
Gabhart, a health administration major, turned in a dominant sophomore campaign. She currently holds program records in the 50 freestyle, 200 individual medley, and 200 breaststroke, while also contributing to record-setting efforts in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and the 200 and 400 medley relays. Gabhart posted first-place finishes in the 50 and 100 breaststroke in the team's meet against the University of Illinois Chicago, and added a first-place finish in the 200 individual medley against Evansville.
