EVANSVILLE, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana Men's Cross Country senior Alex Nolan has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Runner of the Week in a release by the league office Wednesday afternoon.
 
Nolan earns the honor for the third time this season and the sixth time in his cross country career after a strong performance at the Under Armour Pre-National Invitational last Friday in Terre Haute, Indiana.
 
The Evansville, Indiana, native raced to a 73rd-place finish in a field that included 342 runners. He finished the eight-kilometer race in 24 minutes, 10.0 seconds, to lead the Screaming Eagles to a 38th-place finish in a 44-team field that included nine of the top 34 teams in the nation.
 
Nolan will be racing for a conference title the next time he toes the starting line as the Screaming Eagles return to action October 30 when they take part in the OVC Championships in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
