EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Volleyball is set for the second game in the series against University of Evansville, a matchup that will mark the first annual Battle for the Lloyd Championship game between the two schools.

As a new take on the historic crosstown showdown, the winner of the Battle for the Lloyd match will be the host of the championship match the following season.
The Screaming Eagles took the first game against Evansville in an exciting four-set win on Thursday night at Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
USI had three players finish with double-digit kills, led by freshman
Aysa Thomas, who dished out 53 assists for a new career high. In the fourth set (25-20), the Eagles dominated at the net, hitting a game high of .417 hitting percentage. The team finished with a season-high .349 hitting percentage, with 66 kills as a squad, and gave up just 13 points to errors. Juniors
Ashby Willis and
Leah Coleman hit career-highs in kills; Willis had 24, and Coleman had 18.
In the back court, sophomore
Audrey Small picked up 19 digs, followed by sophomore
Kerigan Fehr (12) and senior
Keira Moore (11).
After the loss to USI Thursday night, the Aces move to 4-7 for the season and 6-4 in the all-time history between the two schools. Freshmen Brooke Herdes and Hinsley Everett led the team with 16 and 12 kills, respectively, against the Eagles. Junior Ainoah Cruz led the back row with 21 digs.
