EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Volleyball team was named to the list for the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award on Thursday, July 23.
 
The award is given to teams that maintain a grade point average of at least 3.30 or higher. This year's award marks the third year in a row the Screaming Eagles have made the cut since transitioning to Division I, and the fifth time USI has won the award.
 
The Screaming Eagles are looking to carry on the success of the 2025 season after finishing with a 19-13 overall record and 14-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The team marked a third-place finish in the OVC and the most DI wins in program history.
 
USI opens the 2026 season at home inside Liberty Arena with the USI Invitational on August 28 featuring a doubleheader against Murray State University at 1 p.m., then Eastern Michigan University at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles will round out the opening weekend invitational on August 29 against Northern Illinois University at 2 p.m.
