EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Soccer (1-3-0) hosts the fourth annual Mayor's Cup against cross-town foe the University of Evansville (0-2-4), Saturday night at Strassweg Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Saturday marks the fourth consecutive year these teams have met. Evansville won last year's matchup 3-1 at Arad McCutchan Stadium. The Screaming Eagles trail 0-3-1 in the all-time series.
 
USI returns to action after a week-long break following the 3-2 loss to IU Indy on September 13. The Eagles opened the match strongly, taking a 1-0 advantage in the first half. Sophomore forward 
David Davila scored the opening goal in the 41st minute, which put the Eagles ahead at halftime.
 
IU Indy rallied in the second half, scoring back-to-back goals at 73:05 and 75:33, giving them a 2-1 lead with 15 minutes remaining. The Eagles fought back, tying the game in the 84th minute off a goal from junior defender 
Kristopher Martial, with an assist from freshman forward 
Edin Cvorovic. The Jaguars put the game out of reach with an 88th-minute goal. USI tried to make a late push with a last-second corner kick that was sent out of bounds.
 
Evansville travels to Strassweg following a 3-3 tie with Xavier University, Wednesday evening at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Freshman Devin Shepherd scored two goals in the tie, taking the team lead with three on the season.
 
Earlier in the season, the Aces traveled to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to take on, at the time, number 15 University of North Carolina. Evansville fell 2-0 in the match, but followed it up at home with a tie against the University of Memphis, 1-1, in the following game.
 
Following the match against Evansville, USI will finish the five-game homestand against Belmont University on September 17, as the team celebrates Youth Soccer Night. Kickoff for the game with the Bruins is scheduled for 6 p.m.
