USI signs Sharp for 2025-26

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Basketball announced the signing of guard Sheridan Sharp for the 2025-26 season.

"We are very excited to add Sheridan to our basketball family at USI," said USI Head Coach Stan Gouard. "Sheridan is a young man that we, as a staff, have followed for many years and have established a strong relationship with him before attending Southern Illinois University.

"Sheridan has a combination of size and skill that fits extremely well into our basketball vision and brings with him a couple of years of Missouri Valley Conference experience that will help him in his next chapter of basketball," continued Gouard.  "We look forward to his immediate impact as well as the opportunity we will have to help his growth as a player and a young man."

Sharp is transferring to USI after spending two seasons at Southern Illinois. He appeared in 30 games in two seasons for the Salukis, averaging 4.0 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

The 6'3" guard scored a season-high 12 points versus Florida Technical University, while grabbing a season-best six rebounds at Eastern Kentucky University and dishing six assists versus Belmont University in 2024-25.

Before playing for SIU, Sharp lettered in basketball and football at Ben Davis High School (Indianapolis, Indiana). He was named an Indiana All-Star as a senior after helping lead Ben Davis to the Indiana 4A State Championship.

The Indianapolis, Indiana, native averaged 9.8 points, six assists, and 3.1 rebounds at point guard as a senior. The guard posted 331 assists during his career with the Giants, which ranks first in school history.

The USI Screaming Eagles are a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and will be NCAA Tournament eligible in 2025-26 following the completion of the accelerated transition from Division II. USI has reached the OVC Championship in two of the first three seasons of Division I action.
