EVANSVILLE, Ind.- University of Southern Indiana Volleyball Carley Wright was named Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Wright recorded a career-high performance in the series sweep of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville over the weekend. For both games, Wright tallied 31 kills, four digs, and three blocks, leading the team in kills for the weekend.

In game one, the freshman marked a career-high 18 kills, hitting a .316 hitting percentage, while putting up two blocks. During the five-set win, Wright was ready for 38 attempts from the right side. For game two, Wright continued to lead the offense with 13 kills, hitting a .357 percent, the highest she's hit in a game in her career.

Over the two wins, Wright had just nine errors, averaging a .333 hitting percentage. She led the team in kills in both games, helping to maintain a six-game home win streak inside Liberty Arena.

This week's award marks the first OVC honor Wright has received. She has tallied over 150 kills for the Eagles, along with 60 digs and more than 40 blocks.

The Screaming Eagles moved to 7-3 in OVC play after the SIUE series, and 11-11 overall. They look to continue the four-game win streak they're on when they play at Tennessee Tech University on Tuesday, October 28^th, at 6 p.m.
