Macomb, Ill. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis (7-8) picked up another Ohio Valley Conference victory at Western Illinois University (2-13) on Friday afternoon, 5-2. The Screaming Eagles improve to 3-0 in conference play. The Eagles have made vast improvements in year two of NCAA Division I play.
Doubles
USI took two doubles matches from the Leathernecks as the freshman duo of
Anais Negrail (Maisons-Alfort, France) and
Sofia Davidoff (Lagny-sur-Marne, France) dominated, 6-2. Freshman
Antonia Ferrarini (Caxias do Sul, Brazil) and junior
Madison Windham (Clarksville, Tennessee) strike again for their doubles competition in a row, winning convincingly 6-0.
Singles
Windham
had a special day controlling the match with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Davidoff earned her eighth singles win of the season 6-2, 6-4. Negrail added a highly entertaining win in the singles number four matchup 6-0, 3-6, 6-2. Senior
Rachel McCorkle (Tulsa, Oklahoma) clinched the match by a score of 6-1, 7-5.
