EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Tennis (2-1, 0-1 GLVC) went undefeated in their opening season after defeating Brescia University, 7-0, and Georgetown College, 7-0, at the Evansville Tennis Center. The Screaming Eagles are 12-0 in singles matches while posting a perfect 6-0 in doubles matches this spring.
USI vs. Brescia
DOUBLES: Three partners for the Eagles started the sweep on Friday's match against Brescia. The duo of sophomore 
Lauren Rowe (Terre Haute, Indiana)/sophomore 
Rachel McCorkle (Tulsa, Oklahoma) and partners freshman 
Abby Brown (Evansville, Indiana)/junior 
Chloe McIsaac (Fairview Heights, Illinois) each powered 6-1 victories over their respected doubles competitors. Freshman 
Abby Myers (Evansville, Indiana)/senior 
Kylie Skepnek (Algonquin, Illinois) combination scored a 6-2 win over their doubles opponents.
 
SINGLES: Six Eagles were crowned victorious in singles competition. Rowe claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win while freshman 
Madison Windham (Clarksville, Tennessee) responded with a 6-0, 6-3 victory. Skepnek went 6-0, 6-0 in her respective match to claim another win for the Eagles. McCorkle tallied a 6-0, 6-3 win while Myers secured a 6-4, 6-1 triumph. McIsaac completed a 6-0, 6-1 victory to round out the singles matches for USI.

Chloe McIsaac duo secured the first doubles win for USI after claiming a 6-1 victory. Freshman

SINGLES: Rowe started off scoring a 6-3, 6-3 victory before McCorkle tallied a 6-1, 6-3 win over their respective opponents. Myers who subbed in for Brown added a 7-5, 6-1 triumph for the Eagles while McIsaac nabbed a 6-2, 6-1 tally for win number four in singles matches. Freshman 
Madison Windham grabbed a 6-1, 6-2 victory just before Skepnek ended the Tigers night with the 6-1, 6-2 win.
COMING UP FOR THE EAGLES:
USI is set to clash against former conference foe, Bellarmine University on February 26 at 3:30 p.m. This will be the 23
rd meeting between the two teams and the first since March 2019 when the Knights defeated the Eagles, 6-1, as a Great Lakes Valley Conference match. Bellarmine has also won the past seven matches against USI and have not lost in Evansville since 2011.
 
 
PRESEASON POLL: 
USI received a total of eight votes in the GLVC preseason poll to claim seventh in the east division. The Eagles follow behind reigning conference champions University of Indianapolis who acquired five first-place votes along with University of Illinois Springfield who received two votes. Rounding out the top six are Lewis University, Maryville University, McKendree University, and Lindenwood University.
