CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis won 15 of 31 matches in completing the Austin Peay State University Hidden Duel Thursday and Friday in Clarksville, Tennessee. The hidden duel included teams from USI, APSU, the University of North Alabama, and Brescia University.
Sophomore
Quinten Gillespie (Whiteland, Indiana) and junior
Ruben Emmerson-Hiini (New Zealand) paced the Screaming Eagles by combining for eight of USI's 15 victories. Gillespie and Emmerson-Hiini were each 4-2 during the tournament, going 2-1 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. The duo also combined for one of USI's five doubles wins with a victory over APSU's Aeneas Schaub and Sota Minami.
USI junior
Dylan Brown (Evansville, Indiana) followed with a 3-1 mark, posting a 2-1 record in singles and winning his only doubles match, partnering with Gillespie.
The Eagles finish fall action October 13-17 when they play in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championship in Louisville, Kentucky. The regional will be played at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center on the University of Louisville campus.
