MATTOON, Ill. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis dominated singles play at the Eastern Illinois University Hidden Dual Friday and Saturday in Mattoon, Illinois. The EIU Hidden Dual is the first of three tournaments for the Screaming Eagles this fall.
The Eagles, who were 9-3 in singles play at EIU, were led by freshman
Alfrendo Vogelaar (Netherlands), sophomore
Quinten Gillespie (Whiteland, Indiana), junior
Dylan Brown (Evansville, Indiana), and freshman
Omar ElSamahy (Egypt) with a pair of victories each. USI had it problems during doubles play, going 1-8. Senior
Yahor Bahdanovich (Belarus) and ElSamahy posted the only victory with a win over EIU's Slabbert and Alex Dinkov.
The Eagles return to action October 6-7 in the Austin Peay State University Double Dual in Clarksville, Tennessee. The dual will feature USI, APSU, University of North Alabama, and Brescia College.
