EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Women's Soccer hopes to keep the momentum going when it concludes the 2021 non-conference slate on the road and opens the 2021 Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule at home this week. USI visits Cedarville University Wednesday at 6 p.m. to finish the non-conference matches, while coming home to host GLVC-rival McKendree University Sunday at 2:30 p.m. to start league play.

USI Women's Soccer Week 2 Notes:
USI opens the year 2-0: USI started the 2021 fall campaign on a pair of high notes, defeating Trevecca Nazarene University, 2-0, and Walsh University, 1-0. The Eagles got the goals versus Trevecca from freshman forward/midfielder
Brenna Frommelt and sophomore midfielder
Jill DiTusa, while the game-winner versus Walsh came off the foot of sophomore forward
Morgan Beyer.
Schoenstein is second all-time at USI: Head Coach
Eric Schoenstein is second all-time at USI with a 55-30-2 five-year mark at the helm of the Eagles. He has led the Eagles to their only GLVC regular season and tournament championships, along with the program's second trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
USI Offensive Leader: USI has three players with one goal each. Sophomore forward
Morgan Beyer, a 2020-21 first-team All-GLVC forward, led the team with 18 points last spring on eight goals and two assists. Senior forward and third-team All-GLVC forward
Katlyn Andres topped the Eagles in 2020-21 in assists with nine.
Between the posts: Sophomore goalkeeper
Maya Etienne posted her first win of the season with the shutout of Walsh. The shutout was the 22
nd of Etienne's career, moving her into sole possession of second in USI history. Sophomore goalkeeper
Emma Sabath earned her first win and shutout in the victory over Trevecca Nazarene to open the season.
Cedarville in 2021: Cedarville started its season with a 4-1 loss to the University of Indianapolis last week on the road.
USI versus Cedarville: The USI-Cedarville match-up is the first in the history of the two women's soccer programs.
McKendree in 2021: The season opening week the 2021 campaign has featured a double-overtime tie and a 3-2 overtime win for the Bearcats of McKendree. The Bearcats started the season with a tie at Ashland University, 1-1, and a win at Missouri University, 3-2. McKendree makes a visit to Owensboro September 8 before coming USI Sunday.
USI versus McKendree: USI trails the all-time series with McKendree, 9-6-2, after a 1-0 regular season loss on the road and a 5-2 neutral site loss in the GLVC Tournament championship game.
