ALLENDALE, MI. – University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis collected 15 wins in their opening tournament of the fall season at the ITA Midwest Regional over the weekend.
The Screaming Eagles found the most success in singles competition. Graduate student
Spencer Blandford (Louisville, Kentucky), freshman
Quinten Gillespie (Whiteland, Indiana), and freshman
Guy Finkelstein (Lehavim, Isreal) each grabbed first round victories in their respected flights. Senior
Marvin Kromer (Dogern, Germany) captured two wins in the B Flight before falling in the third round.
Parker Collignon (Owensboro, Kentucky) recorded the most singles' wins for USI, making it to the fourth round of the C Flight consolation bracket.
Blandford captured three more wins in the doubles competition with junior
Preston Cameron (Floyds Knobs, Indiana). Blandford/Cameron combination reached the fourth round of A Flight matches before falling in the semifinals. The Gillespie/Collignon duo made it to the third round of C Flight matches until a loss in the semifinals ended their weekend. Junior
Lucas Sakamaki (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) and Kromer recorded two victories in the A Flight.

The Eagles travel to Clarksville, Tennessee, next weekend (October 8-10) to play in the Austin Peay State University Hidden Duel.
