CLARKSVILLE, TN.- University of Southern Indiana Men's Tennis snagged 14 wins this weekend at the Austin Peay State University Hidden Duel. The Screaming Eagles were 14-13 overall in singles and doubles action against the University of North Alabama, Brescia University, and Austin Peay, which hosted the duel in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The Eagles found nine of these wins in the singles competition. Freshmen
Quinten Gillespie (Whiteland, Indiana) and graduate student
Spencer Blandford (Louisville, Kentucky) led the eagles 2-1 overall this weekend. Blanford and Gillespie have won three of five singles matches overall this fall.
Blandford also captured three more wins in the doubles competition with junior
Preston Cameron (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) in doubles. The Blandford/Cameron combination ended the weekend in Clarksville with a 2-1 overall record this weekend and raised their fall record to 5-2.
Yahor Bahdanovich (Minsk, Belarus) also captured two wins this weekend in the doubles competition, combining with junior
Lucas Sakamaki (Floyds Knobs, Indiana) and Gillespie for one win each.
