ST. CHARLES, Mo. – University of Southern Indiana Baseball could not overcome six errors in falling to #11 (NCBWA)/#17 (ABCA) Lindenwood University, 10-2, on day two of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Tournament Friday at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Missouri. The Screaming Eagles, the third seed from the GLVC Blue Division, go to 23-19 overall, while the Lions, the top seed from the Blue Division, end the contest 31-7.
 
USI watched Lindenwood build a 10-0 lead through seven-and-a-half innings with the aid of six Eagle errors. The Lions scored one in the third and fifth for a 2-0 advantage; extended the margin to 4-0 with two in the sixth; and exploded for six in the seventh for the 10-0 margin.
 
The Eagles got onto the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth. Junior shortstop Ethan Hunter tripled in junior centerfielder Bryce Krizan for the first run and scored the second on a sacrifice fly by senior rightfielder Manny Lopez. The 10-2 deficit would be as close as the Eagles would come in the final frames.
 
USI senior right-hander Jacob Bowles took the loss, allowing six runs, four earned, on six hits and two walks in six-plus frames of work. Bowles also struck out four batters in the loss.

The Eagles continue the GLVC Tournament Saturday at 9 a.m. when they play Quincy University in a rematch of Thursday's second game. Quincy, the second seed from the GLVC Green Division, stayed alive Friday with an 8-0 win over Missouri University of Science & Technology.
