INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- University of Southern Indiana Women's Track & Field grabbed a pair of NCAA II provisional marks in their final regular season meet of the indoor season this past weekend at the UIndy Last Chance Meet.
Senior Jennifer Comastri had the tough task of running the five thousand meters in a limited field, yet still managed to meet the NCAA II provisional qualifying threshold with a time of 17 minutes, 10.23 seconds on a near empty track.
The debut for the women's distance medley relay team comprised of freshman Allison Morphew, sophomore Kaylee Lane, sophomore Emma Brown and sophomore McKenna Cavanaugh did not disappoint.
The Screaming Eagles safely flew under the NCAA II provisional qualifying standard (12:05.93) with a first-place finish of 11:48.10. USI's distance medley relay time currently ranks 15th fastest in Division II and second in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Up Next: All NCAA II qualifiers will wait to be officially selected for final indoor performance lists. Those who are chosen, will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, March 11-13 to compete in the NCAA II Indoor National Championships.
