The University of Southern Indiana track and field teams sent a split squad to the Little State Championship in Greencastle, Indiana this past weekend. The women's team placed 12th out of 16 teams while the men's squad did not record a team score.
USI sprinter Erika Lubbehuesen (Ferdinand, Indiana) and pole vaulter/high jumper
Jalyn Carter (Petersburg, Indiana) recorded the top finishes for the Screaming Eagles. Lubbehuesen finished third in the women's 400-meter dash, with a time of 59.79 seconds, while Carter finished third in both the women's high jump and the women's pole vault. Carter cleared 5'00.25" in the high jump and 9'00.25" in the pole vault.
The Eagles, who had a split squad run at the2002 Sea-Ray RelaysThursday and Friday of last week, will compete at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in Rensselear, Indiana this Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20.
