Men's Tennis falls at No. 19 Drury, 6-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team fell to No. 19 Drury University, 6-1, Friday night at the Cooper Tennis Complex.

Freshman Lucas Sakamaki found himself on the winning ends for the Screaming Eagles (4-2) in the effort, as he posted USI's lone point with a three-set barn-burner in singles action after teaming up with junior Spencer Blandford for the Eagles' lone doubles victory.

Blandford also took his singles play in the fifth slot to a third set before ultimately falling by a score of 6-7, 6-3, 10-5.

Last week's Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week sophomore Marvin Kromer, and freshman Preston Cameron each forced their singles matches into tiebreakers before falling in No. 2 and No. 3 action, respectively.

USI Men's Tennis returns to the Cooper Tennis Complex this afternoon to do battle with Northwest Missouri State University at 1 p.m.
