EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's tennis team went one of three on its southern swing against Southern Arkansas, Southeastern Oklahoma State, and University of Arkansas-Fort Smith this week.
USI 0, SAU 4
The Eagles (5-5) first stopped in Magnolia, Arkansas for two matches on Monday and Tuesday. USI dropped all four matches against the Muleriders.
USI 0, SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA STATE 4
USI then fell 4-0 against its second opponent, Southeast Oklahoma State on Tuesday.
USI 6, UAFS 1
On Wednesday, the Eagles made the trip to Fort Smith, Arkansas for a 6-1 victory, kicked off by 6-3 victory at number two doubles from the duo of senior
Ilia Karelin (Ekaterinburg, Russia) and freshman
Marvin Kromer (Dogern, Germany).
At number three doubles, sophomores
Kooper Falkenstein (Jeffersonville, Indiana) and
Spencer Blandford (Louisville, Kentucky) secured the doubles point win for USI with a 6-3 win over their opponent, respectfully.
Blandford then turned around and captured a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) victory at number four singles. Freshman
Parker Collignon (Owensboro, Kentucky) and Karelin grabbed wins at the number three and two singles slots for the Eagles with 4-6, 6-1, 10-7, and 6-1, 6-2 scores, respectfully.
Freshman
Martin Linares (Buenos Aires, Argentina) won at the number five singles space 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 while Kromer finished out the USI wins at the number one singles spot, 6-4, 6-4.

The Eagles will travel to Liberty, Missouri for a match against William Jewell College on Friday.
