LEBANON, Ill. - University of Southern Indiana Volleyball (7-4, 1-2 GLVC) took McKendree University (5-6, 1-1 GLVC) to four sets on the road on Tuesday night.
Junior
Lindsey Stose (Elkhart, Indiana) led the Screaming Eagles with nine kills in the match. Sophomore
Casey Cepicky (St. Louis, Missouri) supplied the most assists (32), while senior
Haley Limper (Springfield, Illinois) dug out the most attacks (18).
McKendree 25, USI 21
- The Eagles fell behind early 13-7, but posted an 11-4 run to climb back into the frame
- Sophomore Alyssa Yochum (Columbia, Illinois) tallied four kills to lead USI in the first...freshman Taylor Litteken (Foristell, Missouri) followed with three
- The Bearcats were unable to block the USI attack, while junior Elexis Coleman (Joliet, Illinois) and Litteken each found a block
McKendree 25, USI 20
- The Bearcats took the lead for the final time at 17-16...there were six ties and two lead changes prior
- Cepicky and Limper climbed into double-digit territory for the match in the second frame, Cepicky with 11 assists, Limper with 11 digs...Limper also picked up USI's first ace in the match
- Yochum again led the Eagles in kills (3) and added a block
USI 26, McKendree 24
- The Eagles dropped five straight points on the Bearcats in match point to win the third frame...USI had not had a lead since 7-6, but had four ties en route
- USI won the hitting percentage battle .312-.100, in large part due to four kills on five attacks by junior Shawntel James (Elkhart, Indiana)
- Three Eagles posted four kills in the set: Coleman, James, and Stose
McKendree 25, USI 16
- USI rode the momentum to a 6-2 lead early before dropping the final set
- Five Eagles posted a kill, led by James with three
- The Bearcats were led to victory by way of nine kills between Kelly Voss and Hope Gramly

- Four Eagles racked up seven or more kills: Stose (9), Coleman (8), Yochum (8), and James (7)
- Limper tied her season high in digs (18), previously set against Ohio Dominican University on August 24
- Cepicky posted her highest assist total in a match this season since posting 38 against Edinboro University on August 25
- Coleman's eight kills brings her six shy of 100 so far this season

USI travels to the University of Indianapolis on Friday for a date with the Greyhounds at 6 p.m. Following a Saturday match with Lewis University, the Eagles return home to host Truman State University on September 21.
