USI Women's Basketball Notes
• Eagles rally for two wins last week. USI Women's Basketball rallied from an early eight-point deficit to defeat Lincoln Memorial, 72-63, last Wednesday, before erasing an 11-point third-quarter hole to defeat Ferris State, 71-66, Friday evening.

• Last week's leaders. Senior center Kacy Eschweiler averaged 16.0 points and 15.5 rebounds per game to lead the Eagles in their two wins, while sophomore guard Kennedy Williams averaged 14.5 points and 2.0 assists per game. Senior guard Alex Davidson contributed 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and a team-high 4.0 assists per contest, while sophomore guard Emma DeHart chipped in 10.5 points per game.

• Career efforts. Eschweiler and Davidson both had career nights in USI's win over Ferris State. Eschweiler matched a career-high with 23 points, while coming within two rebounds of a USI single-game record when she hauled in a career-best 22 rebounds. Davidson, who had career-highs in scoring and assists in USI's road win over Saginaw Valley State on November 11, grabbed a career-best nine rebounds against Ferris State.

• 22 boards. Eschweiler became the fourth player in program history to record 20-or-more rebounds in a single game—no player has done it twice. Her 22 rebounds marked the second most in a single game in program history. Former All-American Anna Hackert had 24 rebounds in USI's win over Salem International December 9, 2014, which also marked the last time a USI women's basketball player had 20-plus points and 20-plus rebounds.

• 500. USI's win over Lincoln Memorial marked the 500th time Head Coach Rick Stein has been on the bench for an Eagle victory. Stein was an assistant coach under USI Hall of Famer and current Bellarmine University coach Chancellor Dugan for 159 wins from 1991-99 and has amassed a program-record  341 victories in 19-plus seasons at the top of the USI Women's Basketball program.

• Bench production. USI's reserves came alive in the Eagles' win over Lincoln Memorial. USI's bench players accounted for 41 of the Eagles' 72 points, with sophomore guard Kennedy Williams contributing a game and career-high 20.

• Home-streak-Home! USI was won 23 straight home games dating back to the 2016-17 campaign, including a perfect 15-0 record at the Physical Activities Center a year ago. It was the third perfect home record in program history after USI was 15-0 at the PAC in 1996-97 and 14-0 in 2000-01.

• Eagles in the polls. USI Women's Basketball was ranked No. 19 in the Division II Bulletin preseason poll and was receiving votes in the preseason WBCA Division II Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

• Up next. USI continues its seven-game homestand against NAIA foe Indiana Kokomo Tuesday before hosting the  four-team USI Thanksgiving Classic Saturday and Sunday.

• About IU Kokomo. The Courgars come to the PAC with a 3-2 record and will be treating Tuesday's game as an exhibition on their schedule. Sophomore guard Kaitlyn Howe is averaging 12.3 points and 2.3 assists per game to lead IU Kokomo, while freshman forward Tia Chambers is chipping in a team-high 9.8 rebounds per outing.

• About Lake Erie. The Storm visits Clarion Tuesday before traveling to Evansville to take part in the USI Thanksgiving Classic. Currently at 1-0, Lake Erie is coming off a 79-49 exhibition loss to Cleveland State after posting a 68-57 road win over Wayne State (Michigan) to begin the season. Ashley West had a team-best 10 rebounds in the win over Wayne state and was one of three players to finish with 14 points on the day.

• About Michigan Tech. The Huskies are 3-1 to open the 2018-19 season and are coming off an NCAA II Tournament appearance a year ago. Michigan Tech, led by senior forward Abbie Botz, begins the two-day Classic with a bout against GLVC-foe Bellarmine. Botz, one of three players to average double-figures in the scoring column this season, is contributing a team-high 14.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

• Around the corner. Following this weekend's games, USI briefly opens conference play with a GLVC battle against arch-rival Bellarmine December 1.

• Record book watch. One player is currently in USI's record books:
Kacy Eschweiler is 12th in blocks (60), 31st in rebounding (370) and is 41st in scoring (564).

• Magic Mark: 75 points. The Eagles are 401-75 (.842) all-time when scoring at least 75 points. USI is 274-26 (.913) since 1996-97 when reaching the 75-point plateau.
